by | Jun 11, 2025 | Father's Day, Relationships

Son of a war hero and pioneer in healthcare.

Husband to the love of his life for 65 years.

Father of 7. Grandfather to 24. Great Grandfather to 10 and counting.

Jigsaw puzzle master.

Prolific note taker.

Office Depot’s largest consumer of 3×5 cards.

An avid, voracious reader.

A lover of spicy foods.

The patron of stray dogs.

Host of his own live National Geographic show in his backyard.

Owner and wearer of many hats, not metaphorically. 🙂

An acappella Christmas carol conductor.

An Ivy League PhD who never stopped learning.

A lifelong student who could never retire from teaching.

A true scientist whose knowledge of the universe led him to its Creator Jesus.

An owner of a 1992 NIV Study Bible with his fingerprints and highlights on every single page.

A logical engineer who can build the most complex models.

A hopeless romantic who fell in love at first sight.

His students call him Dr Blocker.

His colleagues call him Truman.

His kids call him Dad.

His grandchildren call him Grandad Bo.

His beloved wife calls him just Bo.❤️

He never met a stranger.

He never heard a problem he couldn’t work out with a napkin and a pocket full of colored pens.

He never told a story he couldn’t tell again and make it just a little bit better.

He said, “if you want to make God laugh just tell him your plans.” He said, “You can’t change people. But people do change.” His legacy is his story. A story of God’s grace and mercy and love. And so let this short story end with how he began most every prayer, “Thank you Lord Jesus!”
